Lost Quarry
Creative by nature, rebellious in approach, inspired by what’s all around us.
Why?
There is no simple answer. We are finders, storytellers and creators who are constantly seeking, questioning, learning. Springing from our backgrounds in fashion, design and construction is a design space and ideas that defy definition.
How?
Our story begins with ceramic vessels and cement paintings inspired from our travels. Inspiration is found in oft overlooked detritus and found objects: from bottles washed up on the beaches of Valparaiso to the crumbling sun-bleached walls of Havana. And we look to natural landscapes in far-flung destinations to inform our color palette and silhouettes.
What?
The materials we choose are purposefully selected. Clay, brass, steel and oak offer both the longevity to make lasting objects while perceptibly evolving and changing over time thus giving them meaning. While each individual piece is unique, every object we create is inextricably linked and together they tell a story.
Where?
All work is designed and created in Brooklyn and upstate NY. We embrace a sustainable philosophy by creating what is needed and using salvaged materials whenever possible.
Who?
Over the last 20 years past and current work includes co-founders and designers of The Glen Wilde Bungalow Colony, designing interiors for Other Half Brewery Brooklyn, Egg Shop, Rudy’s Barbershop at the Ace Hotel, and various residential projects.
